AVID Project in FCP
by Duane Fulk on Nov 6, 2009 at 2:23:48 pm

We are considering buying FCP to replace one of our AVIDs. Is it possible to open AVID projects with all the timeline and effects that are in the original? Also, what is the best way to transfer AVID media to FCP. Quicktime is obvious, but what is needed to accomplish this? And finally, if I have Boris effects in the original timeline will FCP work with Boris to keep these effects? Oh, yeah, I assume I will have to recreate all my lower thirds, right?

Thanks,

Duane
