Very tough call at this point in time Gerald, as no one is really using the latest MacPros in a real-world setting yet, and $4000 will get you in the front door on the entry level of the new machines, but not much beyond. Take a look at the latest Barefeets write-up at http://www.barefeats.com/nehal04.html they say that Vast quantities of RAM and the largest number of cores you can get are very, very important. And, I can assure you, even if FCP is not optimized for the 64-bit operating environment of Snow Leopard, the RAM and the number of cores in your machine still are bound to make a huge difference.
