That's not a good thing. It usually means your hard drive is not properly formatted, which may be the cause of other problems you're having. The drive should be formatted for Mac OS Extended.

What file? I have not idea what you're doing here? How are ou exporting? To QuickTime Movie? Something else? If you want the original DV quality ou exported to QuickTime Movie.
What are you trying to do? Make a DVD? You export it to QuickTime Movie. You encode it in Compressor. You author it in DVD Studio Pro.
If you want easy you get Final Cut Express and iDVD.
