Hey Tom... there is no iMovie forum.

I haven't dabbled with iMovie since version 1 at which time I always considered it at par with a linear edit suite on the dv level. iMovie 8 however looks like it was designed around simplicity as was the MacBook Air.

I'll recommend my friend download iMovie 6HD or move up to FCE. Thanks everyone.
