My company wants to be able to access a compression node, preferably one running compressor 4. Am I right in saying that the only way to benefit from a server processing files without taking up the local machines power is to install compressor on both the local machine and server and send jobs to the server through the application?

Is it possible to send jobs to the server without requiring the application on all local machines?

If not, do I require new licenses for each machine?

I know that I could setup 'watch folders' using applescript and droplets, but this would only work for defined settings and wouldn't allow for customisation if a project required a different output criteria....
