compressor problem

anyone have problems exporting a sequence from FCP into compressor to create a progressive download file? I've got "fast start" selected in the inspector window but when its tested the file is only viewable by downloading the entire file first. I've read posts saying this was a quirk with compressor and that the only way was fix this was to export as QT from FCP sequence first, then open in compressor and proceed. I'm trying to avoid this as doing so produces a slightly subpar image comparatively. This is visible in text especially. any insight would be greatly appreciated!
