CS3 to CS4 migration

I've long since upgraded from CS3 to CS4. I've kept CS3 on the computer but have not had to use it since upgrading.

What precautions should I take before removing CS3 software (mainly After Effects and Photoshop) from my Mac computer? I'm especially concerned about the plug-ins.
