What to do when AE just won't render?
by Fabio de la Rocha on Jun 26, 2009 at 9:12:50 pm

Hi,

I'm having terrible trouble rendering out a comp I've just spent two days creating.

It's a 1080p sequence, nothing too radical, all images under 2000x2000, some particle stuff going on. I've been trying to output the thing for the last eight hours and keep encountering two errors; the usual "unable to allocate space for a blah x blah image buffer" nonsense for which I've followed the usual advice, and also the following error:

"After Effects: not enough memory to create memory for blurring"

I've already gone through the labour intensive process of shrinking all jpgs etc and rebuilding comps, but I I still periodically get the error (I say periodically - it's a gamble which gets me first, "unable to allocate space for a blah x blah image buffer" or "blurred memories".

By the way, it seems that the "unable to allocate space" error is linked to my Trapcode Particular layers as it occurs on the same frame they begin. There are four particle layers, two principle and two mimicking shadows. I'm using a small, custom particle which is animated.

First person to help me solve my problem will recieve a pint of beer.

Fab.
