Re: After effects multi core problem
by Florian Schoenherr on Jun 23, 2009 at 2:12:59 pm

Hi Adolfo,
i am running cs4 at the new dell t7500 with 2 Prozessors, and 12GB Ram.

But AE is incredibal slow. My Old Notebook M90 with Dual Core and 4 GB Ram is much, much faster.

To get out a 5 Minutes quicktime referenze (avid-dv codec) as a mpg, after effects need up of 30 minutes (without multiprozessing and using only 30% ram). If i enable multiprocessing the machine need up of one hour.
The same work, with the same harddrives (external) my notebook needs 5 minutes only.

I have tryed a lot (two weeks)settings in the presets (cache, multiproccing, ram) but without any access.

Good idea would be great - and helpful of corce ;).

F.
