Motion Path Puppet Tools Problem

Hi. When I use puppet tools my motion path is way off to one side and not connected to the puppet tools pin. Sometimes i get this problem when I'm working with animating the position of a regular layer. I fix it by moving the anchor point back to the center, but i can't figure out how to do it for a puppet tools pin. Has anyone ever had this problem?
