Retro 40's print ads look in AFX?

we are trying to create the same look that major print advertisers were using in the 40s and 50s. like Clorox and etc. I can get the actors to look right but i need to run a test in AFX to see if i can recreate the printed still image look in video.
are there any tutorials out there that anyone knows about our better yet a plugin for CS3.
I guess its a painterly effect with a little posterization... is this thing on?
any help is good help.
