bending from the side like a thick rectangle could still be done without plugins. You could make 6 layers rotated and oriented into a card board box shape and parent them all to a null so just move the null like a primitive 3-d object. but you'd have some funky manipulating if you change it into an arch. the arc will make parts need to be longer so some layers would have to grow to fill up the missing space. That is why people buy invigorator, so they stay sane. but hey, we all started with AE 3.0 or something; so, is ingenuity a pasttime? hehe.
