"is there a way of selecting the outputs of various cameras in one 3d comp in a subsequent comp?... i want to simultaneously render various views of the same 3d comp and have them as layers in another comp "
You can't do it the way you want. AE ONLY renders the uppermost camera in the timeline.
But you CAN duplicate the comp for each camera, delete the undesired cameras in each comp, and render 'em all. Use the Render Queue. Don't Export.
