How to achieve texturing such as...

Hey there, I was surfing Youtube and I discovered a video that completely shocked me. I love seeing the before and after pics, but I honestly didn't know how he completely retextured everything and turned it into such an amazing battle field. If anything has a clue how he achieved the great re-texturing please let me know.
