RAM PREVIEW ERROR: need 2 or more frames to playback

I am working in CS3 on a 2 x 2.8 Ghz intel Xeon 8 GB ram
I have worked with AE 10 years.

I set my preview area on timeline and ram preview options in time control and no matter what the duration is I get this message,

AFTER EFFECTS ERROR: RAM PREVIEW needs 2 or more frames to playback.

I have reinstalled After Effects, changed memory and cache, purges All (which sometimes works for a while ) BUt it is reoccurring.

Anybody have similar problem ? Is it hardware fault ?
