AE won't recognize .aex files!

Hi,

I'm trying to install a few plug-ins, and most of them are easy to install and work fine (those are ones that end in .ffx) but there are a few I really want which are .aex files instead. I've tried opening them in ae, I've tried opening ae with them in the plug-ins folder and also the presets folder. But it wont work! All I get is this error message;

After Effects error: opening resource file "Twitch.aex" -- unexpected end-of-file (-39).

( 3 :: 54 )

Can anyone help me???
