if you have system compatible plug-ins then you don't need to copy and paste them into CS3 all you need is a shortcut on a PC or an alias for a mac. I install all my 3rd party stuff that normally goes in the Plug-ins folder in a folder I created in the Plug-ins directory or folder called 3rd party. Then I created an Alias on the Mac or a Shortcut on a PC and moved that to the plug-ins folder of the other version. I actually try and keep the latest versions in the newest app so the alias lives in AE7's folder.

Some plug-ins are now installing in a common folder in the library so you'll have to run the installer again.

Again, this works with most. Some do have to be installed in each app and all need to be compatible.
