What it really means is to try and not run applications when doing Nucleo (standard) renders. Things like Photoshop etc, along with Virus checkers etc will eat your system and compete with Nucleo to render.
Nucleo Pro is a little friendlier with running multiple apps at the same time, but you must have the RAM.
Unless you are very familiar with the task manager and what is running on your machine - I would stay away from stopping specific processes there.
