Allocating RAM in AE 7 Prefs
by Jack Pinard on May 18, 2006 at 1:27:19 pm

I have G5 with 2 GB RAM running OS X 10.3.9

I've just upgraded to AE 7 and am wondering what the best settings for allocation of RAM would be in the preferences.

It defaulted to using 60% of available RAM but when I ran the Render Queue with 5 or 6 comps - it seems to render somewhat slower than I would have expected and I can't do much of anything else on the system while that is rendering.

Are there some optimized settings you guys can let me in on?

As always - thanks for the help and input
