It's probably the case that it was unmounted properly at one time and an older directory exists in there with the old name. Apple will automagically rename the mount point by sticking a "1" on the end of it in that case. (I've been caught by this before).
Unmount everything and check in /Volumes for the old mount point. Maybe do a check permissions too in case anything was left in a bad state.
