offloading mutiple P2 cards to one folder

When offloading P2 cards to a hard drive, using P2CMS or Shotput, I usually offloaded each card into it's own folder. But there are times that all that was on a 2nd card was either, the 2nd half of a spannned clip, or maybe a few other clips. In these instances I have exported 2-P2 cards into one folder. Using Media Composer on a Mac I have had no problems reading these clips but worry if doing this may have unforeseen consequences down the road. Does anyone know if this could be a dangerous practice?
