Frank FelkerP2 Card Lifetime Data

I was told by our Director of Photography that the P2 cards themselves carry metadata regarding how many times they've been used and reformatted. How can I find that data, so I can keep track of it and predict when a card's usable life is at the end? Thanks for your help.
