Hmm. It can only be an issue if all the data is not present, but that would be due to human error as you mentioned. If the span is for whatever reason missing, it's not really a big deal, you just won't have all the data. If the span is found later, you just bring in the other part of the span. It's no biggie.

I find the P2 format to be very solid.
