Re: on camera lighting

Well, to be fair, how many "on-camera lighting" setups don't give you the spotlight effect to some degree. That's the nature of a small light, in front of your subject. If you can put the light on a stand, off center, then it's better. Or perhaps give it to your PA/grip to hold. Small budgets means you make sacrifices.

I've also used the small Frezzi. They have proprietary batteries and charges. Or at least they are not standard AA types nor are they regular prosumer camera battery friendly. They have a big longer throw than the lite panel. they get hotter too. Or, you could get the lite panel Mini which is bigger and gives way more light, at around $450. Still runs on AA's.
