I have the hvx200. I am doing a family doc. I already asked in the past if I should film it in 720p or 1080p. I noticed at best buy and circuit city that a lot if not most of the tv sets are 1080p. They said that they are selling more 1080p. Also, I have already shot some stuff in 720p. I have been told in the past that it is better to shoot with 720p with this camera and then up convert to 1080p later. But should I shoot with 1080p and change my timeline to 1080p. Has anybody done any real hard test to find out weather this is true that you should shoot in 720 vers. 1080p. In my other thread people mentioned to shoot in 720p my question then is why. I quess I need to understand this subject of 720p and 1080p better. Is 720p going continue to be what the broadcasters use. How much better is 1080 p. What I mean is how much better is the 960 by 1080 then the 1280 by 1080."
I'd go 720p 24pN for a couple of reasons. 1- 720 is the camera's native resolution. 2- at 720 24pN you have access to the widest possible array of frame speeds up to 60fps for the highest possible slow motion. Not in 1080. So there ya go. And it uprezzes fine in post if needed.
