Have you tried adjusting the sharpness or detail settings? DV is pretty on this cam, but my experience is it likes a bit more light than BG indicates in his manual. Also, with 1/3" chips and small lens, it ultimately just looks like DV, pretty or not. That said, it does do a great job for the size.
