FCP *requires* you to transcode to ProRes. Not all editors do; EDIUS edits AVC-Intra natively. But if you want to use FCP, you're going to have to transcode.

Download the AVC-Intra codec from the Panasonic site, then you should be able to use the same Log & Transfer option to edit AVC-Intra on FCP.
