I actually did email Anders today about this issue. He is aware of the problem, and said there is a free update coming around NAB.
"The free P2 genie v1.5 update is scheduled for NAB, which includes MD5 checksum verify, and better error logic."
However, I still take issue with this problem not being made known to people who buy the software. Seems to me this is a pretty big bug to leave out there for people to find on their own given what can be lost. Frankly I think this should have been a "feature" before it was ever released.
