Sorry man...HD isn't cheap. You have choosen a great format...not falling for the HDV hype. But HD really is more expensive than DV, as more is required to work with it. I'm sorry that you only have that much in your wallet.
Hmmm...looking at your original post...you said that you are looking at 100 MINUTES to 140 MINUTES of raw footage. Now HOURS, right? Well, 140 Min at 720p 23.98 only takes up 50GB. FIFTY GB. One 500GB drive in your second slot will MORE than cover the space requirements. Even if you shot 720p60, you'd only use up 122GB of space.
There you go. One drive.
$1000 for the HVX...you mean RENTAL, right?
