Nikon battery vs aftermarket
by Florentine on Jan 8, 2006 at 2:52:54 am

Hi, I have an N70, one original Nikon EN-EL3 battery and two Power2000 batteries. Both of the aftermarket batts, hardly a year old, died at exactly the same time, and I barely used them. I noticed that the Nikon battery has 3 contact points and the Power2000s have 2.

It's strange that two batteries would die at the same time. So it got me questioning whether the aftermarket batteries do not work on a Nikon charger.

And, I'd read that Nikon had greatly improved it batts with the newer Nikon cameras, the D50(?). Does anyone know if the aftermarket batteries, all still with the same model number, have also been improved, or is Nikon brand better?

Thanks,
Roger
