There are MANY MANY new things that have appeared in your CSS... position static... 14px... list style positons... what are all these new setting you have decided to add??? Reset your css and try out my tutorial before you start again. I know that the tutorial is based around a horixontal menu, but the point is it will explain what each sections of the CSS are, and what they control, so it should transfer nicely.
