Changes don't appear on published site

I'm trying to update a site designed in DreamWeaver using Dreamweaver 8, and everything appears to be working correctly. I log on to the site, make the changes, click Put, and page appears to be fine on the remote file list. However, on the published site, the same old page appears. I've tried deleting the pages on the remote site, and that doesn't work. I've tried emptying my cache through internet options. The guy at my ISP said to try uploading to what looks like an IP number, but that didn't work. I don't know what else to do, and people are nagging me to see the updates. Can anyone help me??
