Extensions can actually serve as a great companion when developing sites. I usually find that the most helpful extensions are those that help with the more time consuming tasks when developing sites (for me that's CSS). First off, i would recommend that you teach yourself a little about databases, as you'll want to know how to setup a database to work properly with any dynamic pages on your site. Having a little baseline knowledge will go along way so take some time to get a solid foundation.

In the past one of my primary uses for extensions has been for CSS, however i navigated over to web assist's site and dataassist seems like it could work well for someone looking to create a dynamic site. From what i can tell it will create dynamic pages for you but that you will have to tie those pages into a database. So again having the knowledge regarding how to setup a database will be a bonus - good luck!

Dan
