As is always the case, you are absolutely correct, these are the pages i am working with already. I have the effect working perfectly on my page, the only thing i am finding difficault is that i actaully want the value to be defined from an XLM rather than coded into the page.
input id="spryrating1_val" type="text" name="spryrating1" value="2.5" readonly="readonly"

works fine, but i want value to ={starrating} but every time i do this it has no effect and my box is simply empty showing no stars. I wondered if there was anything glaringly obvious as to why this is with my code from before? Perhaps again it is something to do with the type of spy region i am using to contain the value?
