Hello Philip,

Both have the ability to preload. A lot of the smoothness of the animation is from the computer speed animating it or the specific implementation of the system. Both Flash and Spry can be smooth and both can be choppy. It really depends on the specific implementation and application.

Post a couple links if you have comparisons and I'll take a look.
