a) yes i/we can fix this

b) it is neither a 'bug' nor a 'glitch' as stated, it is an integral part of the flash engine. the 'display list ' and the 'sound channel' are separate. removing a video/audio unit from the display list does not stop the sound

c) the sound/video should be stopped before the movieclip is removed from the display list

d) "SoundMixer.stopAll does work but is not necessarily the best procedure

e) i am working on another project right now so i can't look at this right away. if no one else reponds, i will look at it at some point later
