Using SWF video will make your final product huge, but it isd far easier to manage. If you use FLV, then you can control the compression more, but you'll have to use 'listeners' to control the pause elements. I've not used streaming video before, so can't advise you on that, although I think I'm right in sayign you need a flash streaming server.

Personally, if there's any way you recreate your animations within flash, you'l keep both control and a manageable filesize.
