Fading the alpha channel on image works via the motion tween settings. Motion Tweening can only deal with one object per layer. If you'd liek your project to feel more organised, then I'd suggest building your fades inside a movie clip. This will give you the freedom to move all four fade around the screen, resize, increase the length of your timeline etc... and the fade will all still happe as orginally intended and continue to repeat.
