Really the best solution, IMHO, is to create your own player. It gives you the most refined control over the look and actions. You can find every step you need under the Adobe Flash Video Tutorials section. Look for Flash Video Basics by Lee Brimelow. Very instructive and easy to follow. Much easier than fudging around with the built in FLV playback stuff.
