Flash and HTML

Okay so I have a webpage that im making, and because I hate webpages that take a few years to load, and I also hate webpages that load in a flash but look nasty, I am trying to create a webpage with css and HTML mainly and then have small flash interactive clips... probably not a new thing at all, but its new for me. So basically I have a small flash video on the page (near the middle) and on the right I have a menu that is just static HTML and what I want is when the mouse goes over the link, for the flash video to start playing the timeline.
On the flash video its about 50 frames long, at the beginning of the timeline I have a stop() comand, so when it loads it wont play until its told to.
Hope thats not too confusing, any help would be appreciated,
Dan
