*.FLV Format for Tutorial
by Justin Productions on Jan 22, 2007 at 6:26:39 pm

Hey guys!

So, I have a little question here and I hope someone will be able to help me.

Thing is, I want to make some After Effects tutorials for a french website. So, first of all, I downloaded CamStudio (here: http://www.camstudio.org/) and made the tutorial. Everything is nice and clean and I rendered it out in a *.avi format (I had the choice between the *.avi and *.swf format). Maybe I should of rendered it in *.swf?

Now, I'd pretty much like to render my tutorial so it can be seen in a Flash player (just like Aharon and Andrew Kramer's tutorials) on the french website. The question is; what are the steps to render such a tutorial in Flash (and on a website)?

I reinstalled my good old Macromedia Flash MX 2004 I bought a while ago and downloaded the FLV Video Exporter (here http://www.adobe.com/devnet/flash/articles/flv_exporter.html) that works pretty well.

I've read the article on the website, followed the steps, but now I'm stuck; I have on my hard drive a *.flv file (my tutorial) that I can't import in AE and that I don't even know if I can put on a web page. I'm stuck and I have a feeling the solution is quite simple. Am I missing something?

So I need to buy this first?

Thanks for your time!
