How ram-intensive is C4d?

How ram-intensive is C4d?

I want to start getting into C4D but don't know how much ram it requires. I know AE is crazy for ram, but I haven't heard much said about C4D's RAM usage. My assumption's always been it uses more than AE, since it involves 3D. Is that true?
My computer is a 2.3 Ghz Intel Core i7 with 4GB memory (which I'll be upgrading to 8 GB). Will my computer be able to handle c4d at 8gb ram?
