you definitely have take the wrap out from being the child of the spline. Either by making it the second child of the extrude (not the best) or grouping the extrude and the wrap in a null. Also it helps to put the spline, extrude and wrap at the origin (or at least the same spot in space) so you don't have to do too much gymnastics with the extrude settings to get it to look right, that's not the problem with the spline it's the grouping thing, just saying...
