Engraving Help Please
by

Hey Guys-
The question here PLEASE is in regards to ENGRAVING. My goal is to have a pipe (exhaust pipe in my case for a car) with engraved text on the surface. The pipe is implemented as a Circle Spline and Text Spline subordinate to a SWEEP NURBS object.
I've read up on and tried the following approaches:
-Bump Map
-Extruded Text with WRAP deformer
-Have yet to try Polygonal displacement
Would you please offer your advice on how you would approach this? Again, I'm attempting to engrave some text (4-5 letters in length) on the surface. They all look terrible. :)
Thanks in Advance to this Forum!!
-Darren
