Logic from Avid post sound mixing

First, thanks for all the great posts on here from which I learned boat loads. My business partner and I are currently scoring a full length film. When we get the green light from the director on the music, we will then do a full mix of the entire film, which will be our first post sound mixing gig. The editor has all the material in Avid and we will mix using Logic Pro and Soundtrack Pro. We also do all of our film work using Final Cut 7. What is the most efficient and logical way to work on this project? What do we need from the editor? He lives in New Orleans and we are in Philadelphia so the files would need to be sent via disc.
