Reference Monitors

Hey everybody I was just wondering if someone could help me out with some reference monitors, I'm currently beginning to learn sound design, and I've looked at several different Reference monitors, from Quad 2way active, to Klein + Hummel three way active speakers to M-audio EX66, and then krk rokit series, but I get different opinions from everybody! Is there a particular model that any of you would recommend since most of the recommendations I get are from sales people lol. Looking for active nearfield monitors, and would like it to be what the pros usually use?!
