Controller Assignment: modes/zones?
by

I am working with an E-Mu XBoard 25. It has 16 knobs for control. I can assign a control to any of the knobs with the 'Learn Assignment' command but the assignment are global. ie. Knob 1 controls the Track volume AND the Guitar Amp plugin Volume. I want them to be discrete. I know this is done somehow using the zones and modes but can't seem to get it right. Can some one explain how to do this or direct me to a posting that does?
Thanks all!
