Hello, go into the arrange and select an audio instrument track, then hit escape then choose the pencil tool, then click to the right on the track and create a region. Now with the region highlighted go into the score editor, you should now see Tab. Drag directly into tab.
Sorry if this is not the help you need but this is what I gather from your post.
See When you have a new score you are starring at a blank screen I presume. When ever you have different regions selected in the arrange then you open the score it shows that region. So most likely you do not have a region. Also if you record a soft-synth part and then select that recorded region in the arrange, you can then open the score and tweak your recording, I also presume you have already done this and are just having a tough time with making new regions.
