Hi Richard-
If I were using I-Frame only, I would probably choose the 180 Mbps level as this is also clearly above HD-CAM quality level (which is also an I-Frame only CODEC). Using the new 64GB CF cards from PhotoFast ($299 each from dvnation.com), you will get about 45 minutes per card or 90 minutes per load of two cards (the nanoFlash has 2 CF card slots).
If the camera is set for 720p you will only get 720p output, same for 1080p. Neither the camera nor the nanoFlash does cross conversion.

PS Several movies that went to film have already been shot using the 140 Mbps I-Frame mode, so I am sure the Pope will look great at the 180 Mbps level.
