Recording Timecode on old analog system
by Brecht Wouters on Jun 17, 2009 at 11:10:00 am

I have this issue where I want to capture video from a Sony Z1 on a very old computer. The computer is a 1998 PowerMac, which means no firewire or any other digital input. There is only a tiny round socket for deck control and TC and a analog audio in for component and composite video. Linking the analog av out from the camera into the input of the computer means no TC.

I have a Convergent Design HD-connect LE. Can I use that to get a full embedded signal from the camera through firewire and output it to the computer? Should I use some kind of cable split?

Regards,

Brecht
